‘Story of global revival will have India playing leading role’: PM Modi at India Global Week !!

New Delhi: The story of global revival will have India playing a leading role, PM Narendra Modi said while addressing the India Global Week 2020 on Thursday. Stressing on India’s contribution to global development, PM highlighted that Indians are natural reformers and highlighted India’s efforts towards self-reliance with global inclusiveness.

In his first address to the global audience in the post-COVID-19 era, PM Modi said, “In these times, it is natural to talk about revival. It is equally natural to link global revival and India. There is faith that the story of global revival will have India playing a leading role.”

In his inaugural address at the three-day virtual conference, being held from July 9 to July 11 themed ‘Be The Revival: India and a Better New World’, PM said that ‘aatmanirbhar‘ does not mean closed to the world, but instead, means self-sustaining and ‘self-generating’. “India remains one of the most open economies in the world. We are laying a red carpet for all global companies to come and establish their presence in India. Very in a few countries will offer the kind of opportunities India does today,” he said.

Addressing the event that will witness 5,000 global participants from 30 nations over the next three days, at a time when the world is battling a global pandemic, PM said that Indians are natural reformers. “On the one hand, India is fighting a strong battle against the global pandemic. With an increased focus on people’s health, we are equally focussed on the health of the economy,” he added.

250 global speakers will deliver their addresses across 75 sessions in the virtual event for the next three days.
